In 2018, Zip Signs officially established baselines and set targets to reduce GHG emissions and achieve a desired B Lab score. This year we added water consumption to our baseline including reduction targets. In addition to last year’s Evening of Recognition, we attended the Sustainable Business Expo where we heard some valuable insights from local B-Certified corporations and learned how blockchain may assist sustainability reporting.

In September 2018, Zip Signs replaced all of the windows in our building with low-E, tinted, insulated windows and blinds. Not only do new windows improve the look of the building, we anticipate they will reduce heat loss in the winter eliminating the need for space heaters, leading to reduced demand for natural gas and electricity and greater overall comfort for our employees. We replaced four installation vehicles with their brand new, more efficient counter-parts which will help reduce our transportation fuel consumption.
